Tenebrae, or “Service of Shadows,” is one of the oldest traditions of the Christian church for the commemoration of the passion and death of Christ. As the Passion story unfolds through the readings and music, the darkness increases, until with the death of Jesus, only one light is left burning. This is not necessarily a cheerful service, as it is an entering into the story of our Lord Christ on the night he was betrayed. It helps us appreciate more gloriously the explosion of light that is Easter. This service will take place on Thursday, April 17th, at 7:00 PM. It is a very participatory event and we are in need of several readers.
Please contact Pastor Aaron if you would like to be a reader for the service. 250-426-4319 ext.103 [email protected] Comments are closed.
